Archipelago RAID

Purtroppo lunedì 10 maggio è arrivata una comunicazione di Christine Sàlen, l'organizzatrice del raid estremo su catamarano Formula 18, che l'edizione del 2010 non avrà luogo a causa della mancanza di sponsor
Riporto qui di seguito l'accorato messaggio di Christine spedito a tutti i partecipanti, simpatizzanti ed iscritti, in originale:

Hi all,
We have tried to find a solution until the very last moment… Even waiting today for a last minute option that came up end of last week… But unfortunately it didn’t work.
It is a big frustration for us today, but we have to admit that we didn’t make it… for this year! We have now reached the deadline without succeeding to find a partner that would allow us to organize the event with the proper resources mainly for the logistics and security issues.
Today, our decision is to postpone the Archipelago Raid to next year. We know that it is a big deception for you, both sailors and people from the organization team. For the one who are coming back again and again and know what to expect from this special event and also for the new coming teams, the Rookies, who were very excited to come and discover the Archipelago Raid and its extreme dimension.
We were very disappointed to get a negative answer from the new management team of Unilever and obviously it was not the best year for having to find a new partner. Hopefully the values of the event are strong enough to survive from the crisis… and the Archipelago Raid will be back next year!
We would like to thank you for all the positive and supporting messages, and also for all the contacts you sent us to try to help finding a sponsor for this year. We are from now going to focus on trying to find a sponsor for next year edition and hopefully we will communicate concrete information early enough, so you will be able to get organized well in advance.
Sorry for this chaotic period, but we tried our best. We hope to see you next year!
